Travelling Light

Hellboy studied the map, a small frown wrinkling his brows. He had to get to the Planes of Fingli--now was that name weird or what--and if his assumptions were correct, according to the timetables, he'd be arriving at his destination in two hours.

So, seeing as he had nothing better to do, he settled into the rather narrow train seat, fully prepared to nap the journey away. The guy sitting across from him didn't seem very talkative anyway.

Pravin Lal, accompanied by his bodyguard, were seated on the train. He was not sure where he was going, but he knew he was not on Chiron anymore. No. The world out side the window was very different from Chiron. It was more like Earth had been; not when he had last seen it, but like the earth of a distant era, before the wars.

He noticed his bodyguard's attention perk up, and he looked up as a strange and huge man in a trench coat approached, taking vacant seat across from him. The man didn't look human, his skin was red and he as wearing what looked like goggles of the same color on his head. Pravin had never seen anything like this creature, and he was quite glad to have his guard with him. However, he did not let his discomfort show, and nodded a small, polite nod to the newcomer.

Hellboy's eyes fluttered open at the movement. The guy had apparently nodded to him in greeting. He tipped his head once in return, then settled back into his nap. He looked like some sort of official, probably am ambassador or something considering that he was Asian, since the guy beside him looked like some sort of bodyguard. Macho build, bald egg-like head, and the look was completed with black shades. Typical bodyguard getup.

Pravin relaxed a bit as he decided the man before him meant him no harm. He considered for a moment inquiring if this individual knew the train schedule, but since the man looked tired, decided against it. He should know the train’s schedule himself, but he’d been asleep, and oddly couldn’t remember getting on the train in the first place. Even more odd, was that this wasn’t a concern to him. Finding the schedule so he’d know where they were going seemed like a more urgent matter.

“Nigel, could you please find the schedule? I’d like to know where we’re headed.” Pravin said to his guard.

Hellboy shifted his weight slightly, but didn't bother to open his eyes. "We're heading for the Fingli Planes or something," he mumbled, folding his hands across his chest.

Pravin turned his head to face the stranger as he spoke. "Ah, thank you, sir." The stranger didn't open his eyes or say anything further. The Planes of Fingli...something told him this was in the exact opposite direction from where he'd like to be going.

A lizard on two legs paced through the aisle looking around with slight distress. When it spotted the two other passengeres it walked up to them, frowned and cleared its throat.
"Hi," the creature began to talk and jumped upon a nearby seat. Its expression showed a mix of distress and annoyance. "I missed my destination."
Well that's what you got when you couldn't open these blasted doors on your own. Sneaking into this train with the crowd had all been that stupid little cricket's idea.

Hellboy exhaled and cracked an eye open irritably. Then, he blinked, once, twice, looking the newcomer up and down with a critical eye. Was that... a lizard?

"Don't think I can help you with that," he said shortly, settling into a more comfortable position. "Unless you're heading for the Fingli Planes or something, 'cause that's where this train is heading."

The dragon grumped irritated and put his head in his palm.
"As long as someone gets these doors to open any place is fine."

"So who the hell are you?" the demon inquired, sitting up straighter in his seat. Not that he was really curious, but having two silent blocks across from him plus one travel-sized talking lizard, he couldn't possibly attempt at napping anymore.

The creature turned to examine his interlocutor.
"The name is Mushu, mighty guardian."
The dragon then huffed, "I was gonna find a new client in Nanigi, but that stop passed already."
Then he shrugged. "There are plenty of other fish in the sea."

When he was done, he crossed his arms and tilted his head, looking back at the demon.
"And who just had the pleasure of being informed with that?"

"Mushu," he repeated, finding the way the name rolled off his tongue peculiar. Some sort of eastern name, probably Chinese. "Client? Are you like a guardian for hire or what?" Truth be told, this lizard didn't even look like guardian material in the slightest. But he had learned in his time that appearances could be deceiving.

"My name's Hellboy," he shrugged, looking out the window as the scenery rolled by. "Nothing special to it or anything."

"Oh it does sound special though," Mushu said, scratching the back of his neck half musing, half destinerested. The latter proofed wrong though, as the dragon spoke up again.
"Like an egui, you mean? How does one come to a name like that? I'm sure it's not been mommy's idea."

"A what?" the demon asked in confusion. What the hell was an "egui" supposed to be?

"And no, it wasn't mommy's idea." He sniffed in annoyance and determinedly started out the window, propping his chin in his stone right hand. He wasn't about to get into a conversation like this with someone he'd just met.

He found himself preferring the discreetness of the other two passengers and wished the inquisitive creature would just drop the subject.

The dragon glanced at the demon for a while until he realized that he wasn't giving him any notice anymore.
Mushu then huffed in a half shrug.
"Nevermind then."

The dragon leaned himself back into the seat, tipping his claws against each other.
"So how long will it still take to that place? Anyone of you familiar with this place?"
